Summer Toileting Independence – Group Sessions:
Does your child have poo and wee issues? Want to see your child gain independence using the toilet? We’ve got you! These nagging, stressful difficulties are REAL and often occur alongside:
- lack of body awareness (oops, missed the feeling),
- lack of activating a plan (getting to the toilet),
- lack of judgement (poor timing).
Your child will join a group of peers to build practical strategies to:
- manage accidents,
- develop skills to listen for their body’s signals,
- have an action plan to stay in charge and get to the toilet on time!
Summer is the ideal time to work on these skills and not just because the weather is kinder! It’s easier for your child to gain confidence away from the uncertainty of daycare/school/public toilets and concentrated time at home gives more opportunities to implement new strategies.
These OT groups will run on most weekdays of the Summer holidays (see schedule below). Attendance is flexible, allowing children to attend on the days that suit each family. Obviously, attending more regularly will allow for more intense therapy and skill development.
Bring your questions and concerns and let’s work on this together!
