NEWCASTLE REGION: Parent Workshops – Toilet Training

The transition from nappies to using the toilet independently is a huge developmental milestone for all children, and a big challenge for parents and care givers (gulp!!).

Annette Collins, Occupational Therapist, has been helping families overcome these and other challenges for over 30 years. Join us for one or both of our 1.5hr workshops to understand more about your child’s body in relation to wees and poos and how to support them as they overcome this important transition. Annette will share her knowledge and extensive experience to help troubleshoot some of the circumstances that can arise when the toilet training process doesn’t go the way you think it should.

PROBLEMS WITH POO:

TUESDAY 2 JUNE 2026 (7:00pm – 8:30pm) – CARDIFF RSL

WEDNESDAY 24 JUNE 2026 (7:00pm – 8:30pm – EAST MAITLAND BOWLING CLUB

We’ll look at:

  • Poos and pees – how to establish a healthy start point
  • Pull-up passion – why won’t they just poo in the loo?
  • The toilet – how to set up for an effective offload
  • Toilet fear – the Body/brain connection
  • The journey towards poo success
